The procedure: What to expect

The entire procedure takes between one and two hours to complete. To begin, Dr. Fenner will create discreet incisions in each armpit. He will then form a pocket beneath the pectoral muscles to accommodate the implants.

From there, Dr. Fenner will place the implants, check them for symmetry and appearance, and close the incisions. A compression garment will be applied at the end of the surgery to support your new chest contours.

The recovery

Pectoral implants are placed as an outpatient procedure. As such, you will be free to return home shortly after surgery to begin the healing process. During the first few days, you can expect mild to moderate post-operative discomfort that can be effectively managed with pain medication prescribed by Dr. Fenner.

Although you will be free to return to work and your normal daily activities within two weeks, you will need to wait two months before resuming your regular workout routine. The implants won’t affect the function of your muscles, so you will be able to exercise normally once the recovery period is complete.
